Andriol
From Drugwiki - Information about drugs, steroids and medicine
Andriol. Available since the early eighties, Andriol is one of the new generation steroids which has replaced the older anabolic steroids popular since the 50s and 60s. What makes Andriol special is that, besides Methyltestosterone, it is the only effective oral testosterone compound.
Testosterone Undecanoate is a fatty acid ester of the natural androgen, testosterone. In the body, it is mostly transformed into Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a metabolite of testosterone. This is the reason why Andriol aromatizes only minimally, (only a very small part of it can be converted into estrogen, since Dihydrotestosterone does not aromatize). Which means users of Andriol do not experience feminization symptoms such as Gynecomastia or an increase in body fat.
Testosterone, taken orally, is reabsorbed through the portal vein and immediately deactivated by the liver and thus produces no results. Testosterone Undecanoate in Andriol, however, is reabsorbed from the intestine through the lymphatic system, bypassing the liver and thus becoming effective. Liver function is in no way affected by this process of reabsorption.
Andriol is an ideal alternative for athletes having problems with the common injectable testosterone compounds. It is highly suitable for pre competition workouts. Furthermore, the body's own hormone production is only affected after a long-term administration of very high dosages of Andriol.
Andriol's low inhibitive effect on the hypothalamus does not affect the release of LHRH (luteinizing hormone releasing hormone) which stimulates the hypophysis to release gonadotropine which spurs the Leydigs cells in the testes to produce testosterone.
Andriol - Dosage and Combinations
In spite of all these advantages, Andriol is still far from being the perfect anabolic steroid. Andriol becomes effective only at high doses. Even a dose of 200 mg of Andriol/day is not enough to pump up the testosterone level in the blood enough for a bodybuilder to gain strength and muscle growth. This is due to the extremely short half-life time of Andriol, as the substance Testosterone Undecanoate is excreted very quickly by the body through the urine. This makes the dosage effective for only a few hours - so 6-7 capsules, that is 240-280 mg (minimum) must be taken daily to achieve good results, in comparison with other injectable compounds. This high dosage however begins to influence hormone production and the compound increasingly converts into estrogen. This manifests in a higher retention of sodium and water.
Andriol is a high priced steroid compound. A package with 60 capsules costs approximately $80. and the minimum daily dose of 6-7 capsules thus costs almost $8. Andriol/Anavar is considered an ideal combination since Anavar also does not suppress the production of testosterone and, moreover does not aromatize.
This combination of Andriol/Anavar gives athletes new to steroids, a fairly large strength increase and also substantial muscle growth. This is appealing for older athletes over forty. Pre- competition athletes wary of doping tests and those wanting to avoid injections on a regular basis can safely substitute Testosterone Propionate with Andriol.
Andriol with its high levels of compatibility can be used with Deca Durabolin in long-term therapy and is an alternative to the popular Dianabol (D-Bol)/Deca Durabolin stack.
Athletes who do not want to give up injectible testosterone, should avoid the estrogen-linked complications by taking up to 240 mg Andriol/day and be able to reduce the water retention.
Andriol otherwise, is a drug better used by hobby-bodybuilders.
Andriol and Women
The androgenic component common with testosterone is also strongly developed in Andriol. Andriol intake can occasionally lead to high blood pressure, retention of fluids, acne, sexual over stimulation, and, in the case of women, the well known virilization symptoms like deep voice and increase in hair growth.
