Dårörten tillhör släktet [[Scopolia|Dårörter]], som ingår i familjen [[Solanaceae|Potatisväxter]].<br />
<br />
Det är en 20-60 cm hög flerårig ört och blommor i april-juni med små klockformade blommor. Den har sitt ursprung i centrala och östra [[Europa]] och förekommer förvildad på ett fåtal platser i Sverige och odlas ibland som prydnadsväxt i trädgårdar.<br />
